Fisher Wins Fifth Straight
The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team extended its win streak to five and ended its regular season on Saturday in an Empire 8 matchup against Elmira College, in a match dedicated to the seniors of the program.
Kevin Kulawiec and
Quinn Magiera teamed up at first doubles, defeating their opponents 8-6. In the second spot was
Jacob Zarzycki and
Dustin McCullough who took their match 8-3, while in the third flight was
Adam Moran and
John Miller who would go on to win 8-3.
In singles action, Kulawiec was up first, winning his match 6-1, 6-1. In the second flight
Quinn Magiera defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-3, before
John Miller would win 6-3, 1-6, 6-3. Zarzycki took the fourth spot and would win 6-3, 6-2. In the fifth flight was Jarret Pelton who won 7-5, 6-2, while in the sixth spot was McCullough who won 6-1, 6-0.
Fisher has clinched a spot in the Empire 8 Championship tournament and will compete in the semifinals on May 6th.
