Eight Named to D3 Baseball All-Region Teams
Eight members of the Empire 8 baseball teams have been named to the D3baseball.com All-New York Region Teams.
St. John Fisher College freshman highlighted the selections as he was named to the First Team while also being named the Region's Rookie of the Year.
Brophy had a tremendous first year in a Cardinal uniform, leading Fisher in wins with a near-perfect 9-1 record on the bump. Named the Empire 8's Pitcher of the Year and Rookie of the Year, the freshman's earned run average of 1.54 topped the conference (13th in the nation), while his 52 strikeouts ranked fourth. Brophy is no stranger to accolades as he has also been named the Empire 8's Pitcher of the Week once and the ECAC's Rookie of the Week once.
