ROCHESTER, N.Y. --
Emily Thompson, a senior on the Nazareth College women's track and field and cross country teams, has been named to the Academic All-District 3 team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A native of Baldwinsville, N.Y. and a graduate of C.W. Baker High School, Thompson has been a standout for the Golden Flyers in both cross country and track and field. She placed seventh at the Empire 8 Conference cross country meet last fall to earn second-team all-conference honors. She also holds the outdoor school record for the 10,000-meter run (38:27.04). She won the 2017 E8 indoor title in the 5,000-meter run and finished second in that event during the outdoor season. She has one season of track and field eligibility remaining.
In the classroom, Thompson has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.89 as a Communication Sciences and Disorders major.
The Academic All-District teams are divided into eight geographic districts from across the United States and Canada. District 3 encompasses all of New York state. First-team All-District honorees advance to the national ballot, where first-, second- and third-team Academic All-Americans will be announced next month.
