GENEVA, OHIO – Utica College junior sprinter Nicodemus Gambill (Rochester, NY/East High) placed sixth in the 100 meter dash and earned his fourth career All-American honor on Saturday at the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at The Spire Institute.  Gambill posted a season-best time of 10.53 in the 100 meter finals, just .02 shy of his own school-record.

Gambill is a now four-time NCAA Division III All-American and an eight-time national qualifier over the course of his career at Utica.  He is a 12-time Empire 8 Conference Champion, a seven-time New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Champion, and a four-time ECAC Division III Champion. He has also helped guide Utica to two consecutive Empire 8 Conference Outdoor Track & Field Team Championships.

Headed into nationals, Gambill entered the 100 meter dash eight times and did not lose a single race. Jamal Watkins of Birmingham-Southern set the stadium record and won the national championship with a time of 10.34.

Gambill, a two sport athlete, has one more year of eligibility in football and outdoor track & field and currently plans to return for his fifth and final season at Utica College.
