Edwards Named Men's Golf Coach of the Year

Moravian College head coach Kevin Edwards has been voted the Empire 8 Men's Golf Coach of the Year by the coaches in the league. This marks his second coaching honor in his career; he previously earned the honor in 2015-16. 
 
Moravian placed third at the 2016-17 Empire 8 Conference Championship with a team score of 1,292, seven strokes behind the runner-up. The Greyhounds finished the spring portion of the tournament with the best team score of the two-rounds in Hershey, PA with a total of 642, including the lowest third round score of 317.  
 
Edwards coached two players to All-Conference honors as Tyler Smith finished fourth for first-team accolades and Kody Long finished sixth to be place on the second team. Smith carded the lowest third round score of 74 and Long carded the lowest fourth round of 73. 

In addition to Edwards' honor, one member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2016-17 Men's Golf Sportsman of the Year Team.  Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.
