No. 4 Ithaca Wins Ninth Straight NYSCTC Title

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 4 Ithaca College women's track & field team claimed its ninth consecutive NYSCTC Championship on Saturday with 229.5 points at St. John Fisher College. Senior
Katherine Pitman set the all-time NCAA Division III record in the pole vault, while freshman
Alexandria Rheaume was named the Rookie of the Meet and
Jennifer Potter and her staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year.
Pitman won the pole vault and cleared 4.28 meters (14 feet, 0.5 inches) to break the previous top DIII mark by .01. She know owns both the all-time best marks in indoor and outdoor, as well as the NCAA Championship meet records for both seasons.
Rheaume ran a leg on the winning 4x100-meter relay team, placed second in the 400-meter dash at 58.47 seconds and was third in the 200-meter dash at 25.61 seconds.

Amanda Wetmore and junior
Amber Edwards won the event in 48.65 seconds.
Edwards would run in the 100-meter hurdles and finished second overall in 15.01 seconds, while Lusmer claimed second in the 100-meter dash at 12.65 seconds and Wetmore was fourth in the 100 in 12.75 seconds. Lusmer also entered to 200 dash and took fifth in 26.93 seconds.
Junior
Taryn Cordani won the 5,000-meter run in 17:18.10 to set a new facility record and was also a second place runner in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:40.04.
Senior
Brandy Smith won the discus by more than meters with a mark of 42.95 meters (140' 11").
Junior
Denise Ibarra was a runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:54.74. Freshman
Beth Cripps was another runner-up in the pole vault with a cleared height of 3.65 meters (11' 11.75").

Ria Russo and sophomore
Viktoria Schultz were third place finishers in 4:05.39.
Swarthout posted a time of 1:06.53 in the 400-meter hurdles to claim sixth. Schultz finished the 400 dash in a time of 1:01.05 to take sixth, while Russo was close behind in seventh at 1:01.65.
Junior
Sierra Grazia took fourth in the 1,500 in 4:41.43, while junior
Danielle Maffuid secured fourth in the pole vault at 3.35 meters (10' 11.75").
Grazia also took fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:20.01, while sophomore
Emilie Mertz finished just ahead of her in third with a time of 2:19.06.
Ithaca went 4-to-6 in the shot put on Saturday. Senior
Francesca Boylan was fourth with a mark of 11.51 meters (37' 9.25"), freshman
Kendall Wellauer finished fifth at 11.07 meters (36' 4") and junior
Caitlin Noonan took sixth with a mark of 11.06 meters (36' 3.5").
Freshman
Estelle Yedynak cleared 1.52 meters (4' 11.75") in the high jump to finish fourth, while freshman
Caity Schmitz finished fifth overall in the triple jump with a leap of 10.72 meters (35' 2"). Sophomore
Jordan Beckley came in at 13.06 seconds in the 100 dash to finish sixth.
Senior
Natalie Meyer finished the high jump in seventh place at 1.47 meters (4' 9.75"). Freshman
Sarah Rudge clocked in at 4:47.23 in the 1,500 to place seventh. Senior
Yvonne Palacios came in seventh in the discus at 35.52 meters (116' 6"). Senior
Nicole Razzano posted a mark of 3.05 meters (10') in the pole vault to finish seventh. Senior
Kristin Lynn came in fifth in the steeplechase as she crossed the line in 11:34.48.
