Fisher and Ithaca Make NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the second consecutive season, the Empire 8 will have two women's lacrosse teams in the NCAA Tournament, as the selection committee revealed its Division III Tournament field on Sunday night.

St. John Fisher College, winners of the #E8 Championship, earned the conference's automatic bid into the 2017 Tournament, while Ithaca College was one of 11 teams to receive an at-large bid. 

Fisher (14-4), which is ranked 18th in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll, will face Morrisville State on Saturday, May 13.  The Mustangs won the NEAC conference championship over the weekend and hold a 13-5 overall record.  The two teams will play in York, Pa. with the host team awaiting the winner for a 1 p.m. Sunday showdown.

The Bombers (13-4) will head to Middletown, Conn., for their first game of the tournament, a Second Round matchup against Wesleyan University on Sunday, May 14.
