2017 Women's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team and MVP

The 2017 Empire 8 Women's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team has been announced. 

St. John Fisher – Claire Bollin (MVP), Jordan Johnson (A), Jamie Wallace (A/M), Cori Holbrook (M), Abbie Reed (D)
Stevens – Kyra Bednarski (A), Julianna Ricci (M), Victoria Alvarez (D)
Ithaca – Allie Panara (A), Gaby Berne (M)
Nazareth – Jamie Martin (A), Nicole DeVona (M)

Bollin helped the Cardinals secure their sixth consecutive Empire 8 title and an automatic bid into the 2017 NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championships. She scored two goals and totaled 10 assists as Fisher downed both nationally ranked Ithaca College and Stevens Institute of Technology over the weekend. She totaled 12 shots, three ground balls and won 15 draw controls in the two-game stretch.

Johnson scored five goals and tallied five assists over the course of the tournament. She had a hat-trick and three helpers against Ithaca, makring the 11th game this season she scored three or more goals in a game.

Wallace tallied five ground balls, four goals and one assist for the Cardinals. She also had two draw controls. 

Holbrook finished the tournament with four goals and four draw controls. She tallied a hat-trick against Ithaca in the semifinals and netted one goal in the final against Stevens.

Reed anchored a defensive unit that allowed 12 goals in the tournament. She and the Cardinals held Ithaca to its third lowest offensive output of the season and held Stevens to its lowest output. Reed scooped up six ground ball and caused four turnovers. 
 
Bednarski scored two goals in each game of the tournament and also added two assists in the semifinal against the Golden Flyers. 

As a midfield, Ricci helped Stevens advance to the finals for the first time since 2011. She tallied a goal in the championship game and added one ground ball and a caused turnover.

Alvarez recorded two caused turnovers in the tournament to go along with five ground balls.

Panara posted a strong performance for the Bombers in the semifinal with four points. She scored twice and added two more assists. She also added three of Ithaca's 15 draw controls.

Berne scored a pair of goals in the semifinal loss to Fisher.

Martin led Nazareth in the semifinal with four goals. She also scooped up three groundballs and caused one turnover.

DeVona finished with one goal, one assist, three groundballs, three draw controls and three caused turnovers against Stevens.
