Johnson, Kalbian and Plunkett to Participate in IWLCA Senior All-Star Game
St. John Fisher's Jordan Johnson, Stevens Institute of Technology's Kathleen Kalbian and Utica College's Rebecca Plunkett have been selected to participate in the 2017
Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Division III Senior All-Star game.
The Senior All-Star game will be held on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, June 3, 2017. The Division I teams will play the first game at 11:30 am, the Division II game will follow at 12:45 pm, and the Division III teams will cap off the event with their game at 2:00 pm. The 44 players selected in each Division have been divided into two teams: North and South.
Admission for all three games is free of charge. The games will also be web-streamed live on IWLCA-tv.com.
Having her best year in a Cardinal uniform, Johnson put up numbers that not only topped the team but were among national recognition as well. The Canandaigua native finished the 2017 campaign with 111 points on 57 goals and 54 assists, leading the Cardinals and setting new career-highs in each category. Her 111 points were 26 more than anyone in the conference and were the sixth most in the country, while her 54 assists ranked eighth in the nation.
Kalbian started all 18 games and finished third on the team in goals (31) and points (38), while concluding her career among the program's all-time leaders in goals (140), points (194), caused turnovers (94), ground balls (208) and draw controls (295).
This past season Plunkett led the Pioneers with 37 goals and 43 points in 14 games. She finished third in the conference with 4.07 draw controls per game. She finished her career tied for third on the College's all-time career goals and points list, with 147 goals and 167 points in 61 games over the last four years. Plunkett is also second all-time in school history with 223 draw controls.
