Two Former E8 Players Selected for MLL All Star Game

Two former Empire 8 lacrosse players have been selected to the 2017 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) All-Star Game, as announced by the league office on June 22.
The E8 alums selected to participate are Nazareth College’s Drew Simoneau (2015) and St. John Fisher College’s Kyle Denhoff (2012). Both Simoneau and Denhoff currently play for the Rochester Rattlers.
Dehnoff is making his second selection to the All-Star team in as many seasons. He ranks fourth on the team with 14 points, including 10 goals and has scooped up nine groundballs.
Simoneau will be making his first All-Star appearance. Through eight games this season with the Rattlers he has won 109 of 201 face-offs and has grabbed a team high 61 groundballs.
Denhoff and Simoneau were both standout players in the Empire 8. Denhoff played in 66 games, was a four-time E8 All-conference selection and a two-time USILA All-America. He finished his college career with 132 goals, 48 assists and 118 groundballs.
Simoneau was a four-time E8 All-Conference selection, the 2013 E8 Rookie of the Year, three-time E8 Player of the Year and three-time USILA All-American. He played 74 collegiate games and finished with a .651 faceoff winning percentage (1038-of-1595) and 779 groundballs.
The All-Star game will be held on July 8 at Papa Murphy’s Park in Sacramento and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
