Fisher Men's Golf Receives Team Academic Award
NORMAN, Okla. – The St. John Fisher College men's golf team, which qualified for its seventh consecutive NCAA Division III Golf Championship in May, received recognition for its work in the classroom on Wednesday as the Golf Coaches Association of America announced that Fisher was among its Academic Team recipients.
In order to be selected, a team must have an overall cumulative team grade-point average of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The Cardinals were one of just 36 teams competing in Division III to have been recognized.
Fisher, which has been a model of consistency, won its seventh consecutive Empire 8 Championship this spring and finished tied for 24th at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
