Saxons and Golden Eagles Move Up in D3football.com Poll
Two teams from the Empire 8 Athletic Conference (E8) are included in the latest D3football.com Top 25. The Week 2 poll was released on Sunday afternoon and features Alfred University (No. 19) and The College at Brockport (No. 22) (No. 7).
Brockport (2-0) moved up three spots to No. 21 this week following a convincing 31-0 win over Ithaca College on Saturday. The Golden Eagles totaled 442 yards of offense in the game. The game marks the first time since 2002 that the Golden Eagles have blanked the Bombers.
Brockport will play their first Empire 8 opponent on Sept. 16, as they travel to St. John Fisher for the annual Courage Bowl game, with kickoff slated for 6 p.m.
Despite a bye-week, Alfred (1-0) moved up two spots to No. 19.
The Saxons ?return to action on Saturday, Sept. 16, when they host Empire 8 Conference foe Utica at 1 p.m.
The top three teams in this week's poll remained the same, with Mary Hardin-Baylor at No. 1, Mount Union at No. 2 and Wisconsin-Oshkosh at No. 3.
