Honorary Coaches and Cheerleaders Announced For Courage Bowl XIII

The honorary coaches and cheerleaders for Courage Bowl XII were announced during the annual luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 14 hosted by St. John Fisher College
The Courage Bowl game will take place Saturday, Sept. 16 at Growney Stadium on the campus of St. John Fisher College as the Cardinals host The College at Brockport Golden Eagles. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
The meeting, which marks the 23rd time these two programs clash on the gridiron, has extra meaning as all proceeds will directly benefit Camp Good Days – a not-for-profit organization that has provided care for children afflicted with cancer.
Honorary coaches and cheerleaders for Fisher: Alexander Brown, Connor Stanton, Logan Dileo, Ryleigh Farrel and Erika Berry.
Honorary coaches and cheearleaders for Brockport: David Costanza, Ian Cameron, Oneil Carter, Lucas Lowe, Emma Golden and Maggie Riordan.
On Saturday, the honorary coaches will be in the locker room with the team, lead them on to the field, be at mid-field for the coin toss, and coach from the sidelines during the game. The honorary cheerleaders will cheer with the Cheerleaders during the game.
At the luncheon, Gary Mervis, chairman and founder of Camp Good Days, also announced the recipient of the Fr. Joseph Lanzalaco Memorial Courage Award, Steve Christie, who will be honored at halftime of the game.
In addition to players and coaches from the Fisher Cardinals and the Brockport Golden Eagles football teams, elected officials, members of the College's administration, and Camp Good Days and Special Times staff and supporters also attended the luncheon.
Fans unable to make their way to Fisher's campus for the game on Saturday can still catch all of the action as the contest will be televised on Spectrum channel 98 throughout the Greater Rochester area and will be televised on channel 87 throughout the Buffalo area.
