UTICA, NY- The Utica College women's basketball team participated in Mayor Palmieri's weekly quality of life sweep on Wednesday.

The Pioneers joined Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri and other city personnel to help clean up neighborhoods in east Utica.  This is just one of the many community service projects that the team participates in throughout the year.

Since he took office, Mayor Palmieri and his department heads have conducted Quality of Life Sweeps every Wednesday through the months of April-December. The message has been consistent throughout – "Keep it Clean," "Keep it Safe"

The Pioneers open up their season on Wednesday, Nov. 15 as they host SUNY Potsdam.  Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
