D3football.com and AFCA Polls Feature E8 Teams
The College at Brockport and Alfred University football teams are ranked in both prominent national polls. Brockport moved up to No. 16 in the
D3football.com poll and No. 18 in the
American Football Coaches Association, while Alfred moved up to No. 19 and No. 17, respectively.
Buffalo State (3-0, 1-0 E8) is also receiving votes in the D3football poll and SUNY Cortland (2-1, 1-0 E8) is among other teams receiving votes by the AFCA.
Alfred, Brockport, Buffalo State are three of 47 teams in Division III that are currently undefeated on the season.
Brockport took down Utica College 28-14 on Saturday, Sept. 23 to move to 4-0 on the season (2-0 Empire 8). This is the first time the Golden Eagles have begun a season 4-0 since 2003, which was the last time they appeared in the NCAA Championship Playoffs.
Alfred (3-0, 1-0 E8) rushed for 423 yards in a 45-7 Homecoming Day victory over non-conference foe Rochester Sept. 23 at Yunevich Stadium.
Brockport will be on the road next weekend Sept. 30 when they travel to Cortland for a game beginning at 2 p.m. They'll then have a week off before beginning the second half of their 10-game schedule.
Alfred returns to conference play Saturday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. at home against Buffalo State.
