What interested you and brought you to Utica? Saw a lot of potential in Utica College athletics and the men’s basketball program. It is a great location to recruit.

When you hear “Utica” what is the first word that comes to mind? Never Stand Still.
Who has been the most influential person during your career? Why? My father who is now an assistant coach on my bench. He introduced me to the game and helped me through the tough times as a player. My wife. She is a women’s basketball coach and very understanding about this job and the hours.
What do you do in your spare time? I try to workout daily, reading is a pleasure but most of my time is spent with my daughter Brielle and my son Rip – Richard Sean Coffey Jr.
Top 3 things on your bucket list? Travel to Europe. Attend an Octoberfest. Have a place to retire to in Ireland. Attend more concerts.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I enjoy a rainy, overcast, cool day. I don’t like the super-hot sunny days.
