Fisher Men's Track and Field Ranks 15th in NCAA Preseason Poll
PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's track and field team has been ranked 15th nationally in the latest NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Preseason National Team Rankings. The team scored a total of 42.82 points in the poll.
Senior Peter Girardi paces the team with the sixth best time nationally in the 400-meter race with a scored performance of 48.20, as well as tenth nationally in the 60-meter hurdle event, clocking in at 8.15. The time is just one hundredth of a second behind the ninth fastest runner.
Eddie Mahana ranks 18th overall in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.27.
Mark VanMarter claimed the top spot in the current poll in the long jump event, measuring 7.64 meter jump. VanMarter also is currently tied up in the 28th spot in the high jump event, with a 2.01 meter mark.
