Kids had the chance to try different sports, discuss the importance of Title IX and fair play, and watch the Stevens women's basketball team compete against conference rival St. John Fisher College.

"Title IX and the importance of fair play is something that a lot of young kids don't understand since it hasn't been a part of their reality" remarked head field hockey coach Meredith Spencer-Blaetz. "It's crucial that all kids, but young girls especially, are aware of the opportunities that sport can provide for them. This day (offered) them the chance to spend time with some of our current student-athletes and participate in a variety of activities."

NGWSD is a day to celebrate the extraordinary achievements in girls' and women's sports and the positive influence athletic participation brings to their lives. This year's theme is Play Fair, Play IX and the NGWSD Coalition and Stevens Athletics will celebrate the importance of fair play, building awareness about Title IX and working together toward its promise of equal opportunity in sports.
