Stevens Women's DMR Ranked No. 2 in NCAA

NEW YORK, N.Y. (January 25, 2018) - After earning special placement into the Dr. Sander Invitational at the NYC Armory this week, the Stevens Institute of Technologywomen's distance medley relay teams proved they belonged by turning in the second-fastest (women) times of the year among all NCAA Division III teams so far this year on Friday.

A distance medley relay is made up of a 1200-meter leg (three laps on a standard 400 meter track), a 400-meter leg (one lap), an 800-meter leg (two laps), and a 1600-meter leg (four laps) in that order. The total distance run is 4000 meters, or nearly 2.5 miles.
The Stevens women's DMR owns the second-fastest time in NCAA Division III and was less than a second behind Johns Hopkins, who also competed at the Armory on Friday.
