COLLEGIATE BASEBALL NEWSPAPER PRESEASON POLL

According to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Top 40 Poll, which was released on December 20, the Ithaca College and St. John Fisher College baseball programs will begin the 2018 season as the No. 21 and No. 25 teams in the country, respectively.

Ithaca went 30-13 last spring and finished third in the NCAA Division III New York Regional Tournament in Syracuse. The Bombers earned the Empire 8 Conference's first-ever automatic bid to the NCAA Championship after defeating St. John Fisher College, 10-6, in the conference final.

Ithaca opens its season on February 24 against Brockport and Virginia Wesleyan in Norfolk, Va.

Fisher, who made their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship last season and played to a 31-12 overall record, will have 40 scheduled games with 15 taking place at Dugan Yard.

The Cardinals will get things started with a doubleheader at Johns Hopkins University on February 24th before heading south for the RussMatt Invitational where Fisher will face seven opponents from March 3-10.
