Walck Recognized As NCAA Division III Defensive Saves Leader

Rochester, NY – Nazareth field hockey senior Marisa Walck has been recognized as the 2017-18 NCAA Division III statistical champion for Defensive Saves.  The Ransomville, NY native was credited with 12 defensive saves during her senior season, tied with three other athletes for the most defensive saves in the nation.

Walck was no stranger to defensive saves throughout her career, collecting 11 as a junior and 10 as a sophomore for a career total of 33.

During the 2017 season, Walck started 14 games on a defense that allowed 4.17 goals per game.  She notched a career-high three defensive saves against Utica College on September 9.
