Sage's Trimblett, Stevens' Panko Named Google Cloud Academic All-District Selections
A pair of Empire 8 Women's Soccer student-athletes were recently named Google Cloud Academic All-District® selections. Sage's Samantha Trimblett and Stevens' Julia Panko were recognized for their outstanding success on the field, as well as in the classroom. Both were recognized with the honor for the second consecutice year, and both were First Team All-Conference selections. Panko was named the E8 Women's Soccer Player of the Year.
CLOSER LOOK
It's the second straight selection for Trimblett who has a 3.70 grade-point-average as a graphic and media design major at Sage. With her selection to the Empire 8 All-Star Team, she is the first Gator women's soccer player to earn a spot on the Empire 8 First Team in women's soccer.
Trimblett set the career record for assists at Sage and finished her stellar career having been the Gators' leading scorer in all four of her seasons on the team. She closed her career with 22 points on nine goals with four assists and two game-winning goals in 2018. She had one of the best careers of any Gator in women's soccer history having guided the Gators to post-season appearances in three of her four years on the team.
It's also the second straight season that Panko has been tabbed with the prestigious honor and the 17th for the women's soccer program. She maintained a 4.0 grade-point average, while studying chemical engineering at Stevens. The New Jersey native is part of Stevens' Pinnacle Scholars program and has partaken in both the Co-Op and the Stevens Leadership Academy programs.
On the pitch, the junior midfielder led the team with 10 goals and three assists en route to being named Empire 8 Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

About the Google Cloud All-District Team
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed in links provided above and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
