Stevens Becomes First Team in E8 History to Win Four Straight Women's Soccer Titles

HOBOKEN, N.J. – Stevens won its fourth straight Empire 8 Conference Championship Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Utica at the DeBaun Athletic Complex. With today's championship win, Stevens became the first team in conference history to capture four straight women's soccer championships. The Ducks moved to 10-4-4 all-time in the E8 tournament and won their sixth Empire 8 crown overall.

Freshman Ally Wanzor broke through in the 25th minute to provide Stevens with all the offense it would ultimately need. The Jackson, New Jersey native uncorked a rocket of a shot from well outside the 18-yard box that sailed well over the outstretched arms of Utica goalkeeper Allison Wagner and tucked in neatly underneath the crossbar.

Senior Misha Brewster and junior Julia Panko also found the back of the net for Stevens, who won its 13th straight match to improve to 15-2. For her efforts, Panko was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. It's the 13th consecutive win for the Ducks and they are now just one shy of the program record for consecutive victories (14), which was set back in 2005.

Wagner made eight saves for Utica, who fell to 10-7-3. Freshman Izzy DiDario and sophomore Erika McCarthy totaled three saves in the combined clean sheet for Stevens; the 10th for the Ducks this season.
