December 3 – December 9


Men’s Basketball
Player – Sammy Robinson, St. John Fisher (Junior, Cedarhurst, N.Y.)
Robinson was named to the All-Tournament Team last week as the Cardinals went 1-1 on the week in the third annual Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout. Fisher took No. 17 Rochester to overtime before trouncing RIT. Robinson averaged 26 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists over the week and was efficient from the floor after going 18-of-35 (.514) with seven 3-pointers. Against No. 17 Rochester, Robinson accounted for a game-high 28 points to go along with four boards and three dimes before shooting 10-15 against the Tigers to finish with 24 points and seven rebounds.

Rookie – Brendan Trapper, St. John Fisher (Freshman, Buffalo, N.Y.)
Trapper had a pair of strong performances for St. John Fisher last week as the Cardinals forced overtime against No. 17 Rochester, before defeating RIT in the third annual Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout. Trapper averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds off the bench as the freshman shot 9-for-11 from the floor overall. Against the Yellowjackets, Trapper finished with six points and five rebounds before adding a career-high 15 points and six boards against the Tigers.

Women’s Basketball
Player – Megan Flynn, Sage (Junior, Hoosick Falls, N.Y.)
In a 2-0 week for Sage, Flynn was instrumental with a 21-point effort on a road win over Skidmore. She backed that up with 20 points in a record-setting 115-111 win over Westfield State. She shot 73.9% from the floor (and was 17-23) for the week and averaged 8.5 rebounds per game as well. She was 9-11 from the floor vs WSU.

Rookie – Alyssa Waters, Elmira (Freshman, Plattsburgh, N.Y.)
Waters led Elmira to a 69-58 victory over Penn College in the team’s lone game of the week as she scored a team-high and season-high 19 points, her third game of the year with double-digit points. She added five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block. Responsible for eight of EC's 12 fast-break points, including a steal and coast-to-coast layup in the fourth quarter

Indoor Track & Field
Men’s Track Athlete – Eddie Mahan, St. John Fisher (Junior, Clay, N.Y.)
Mahana set a new facility record at the Pioneer Winter Classic on Saturday as the junior took first place in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 8.13 seconds which ranks him first in the nation overall. The junior was only two-tenths of a second shy of the St. John Fisher College record, of 8.11 seconds. Mahana also nabbed a second-place finish in the 300-meter race with a final time of 35.57 seconds.

Men’s Field Athlete – Ka’Sean Watlington, Utica (Junior, Bayport, N.Y.)
Watlington was a dynamo in the horizontal jumps as part of a greater Utica effort in those events as the Pioneers placed second in the Pioneer Winter Classic on Saturday. The 2018 NCAA qualifier won Saturday's triple jump by over a meter with a mark of 13.93 meters, and also placed second in the long jump with a jump of 6.62 meters. He was just 0.02 meters away from doubling his win total in the long jump.

Women’s Track Athlete – Tayler Dence, St. John Fisher (Junior, Hannibal, N.Y.)
Dence had a day for the record books on Saturday at the Pioneer Winter Classic, as she captured the win in the 60-meter hurdles and set a St John Fisher College record of 9.17 seconds, surpassing her old mark of 9.18 seconds from last season. She also took the third-place finish in the 300-meter race after she crossed the finish line in 42.77 seconds.

Women’s Field Athlete – Mary O’Brien, St. John Fisher (Senior, Honeoye Falls, N.Y.)
O'Brien came away with the first-place finish for St. John Fisher after the senior leaped 3.20 in the pole vault event. The All-Atlantic Regional qualifying mark was just one centimeter off of the school record.
