December 10 – December 17
Men’s Basketball
Player – Kimedrick Murphy, Utica (Sophomore, Hudson, N.Y.)
Murphy came up big for the Pioneers in their lone game of the week – a double-overtime loss to Mount St. Mary. The sophomore big man had 18 points and 15 rebounds for Utica. Murphy was 8-11 from the floor for and added three steals, two blocks, and two assists.
Rookie – Elliot Bowen, Alfred (Freshman, Salamanca, N.Y.)
Bowen had one of his best games of his young career as the freshman posted 23 points and six rebounds in the Saxons’ 61-57 win over Cobleskill Saturday. He was an extremely efficient 10-12 from the floor in Alfred’s non-league win, their third-straight before the break.
Women’s Basketball
Player / Rookie – Sydney Przygoda, Utica (Freshman, Freehold, N.J.)
Przygoda had a huge game in the Pioneers lone game of the week – a 77-67 win over Morrisville State. The freshman recorded 27 points on 11-18 shooting from the field and pulled down 16 rebounds in the win. Eight of her 16 rebounds came on the offensive glass. She added a pair of steals and a pair of blocks in the Pioneers’ win.
