Fisher Sets School Record in the Mile and the 4x400 Relay
NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. - Seven members of the St. John Fisher College men's track and field team competed at the NYU Invite located at the Armory in New York City.
Down went the school record real quick in the mile race when James Felice broke his own standing school record with a time of 4:16.83. However, Mac Milligan was just one step ahead of Felice, clocking in at 4:16.04, setting the new collegiate record in the race. Both times easily qualified the duo for Atlantic Regionals.
Felice also placed 13th overall in the 800-meter with a time of 1:58.19.
As for the 400-meter dash, Peter Girardi took the win and clocked in at 48.83 seconds. Jack Behlmaier and Zak Kennedy placed 11th and 32nd of 48 total competitors
Girardi also placed sixth in the 200-meter dash clocking in at 22.48 seconds.
Eddie Mahana put on a show of his own placing second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time stamp of 8.16 seconds, just one hundreth of a second from Girardi's school record and is now tied for sixth in the nation.
To top off the day, the 4X400-meter relay team consisting of Mahana, Kennedy, Behlmaier and Girardi took fourth in the event with a time of 3:24.97, setting a new school record in the realay. This time also qualifies the relay team for the Atlantic Regional meet.
