Stevens Men’s Track & Field Set Records in Boston

BOSTON (February 10, 2018) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's track & field team smashed five school-records, including a whopping nine-second improvement in the distance medley relay of Michael John, Nicholas DiMaria, Tom Selvaggi and Nick Zickgraf as the Ducks had their final tune-up before the Empire 8 Championship at Boston University on Saturday.
Zickgraf, the anchor of the DMR, turned in a blistering 4:06 time in the 1,600 to get the Ducks over the line in 9:55.09, by far the fastest time in school-history and the first time Stevens has broken the 10-minute barrier in the event. It is the fourth-best time in NCAA Division III thus far this season.
The 4x400 m relay team of Alex Kainer, Andrew Loth, Dan Kaba, and Nick DiMaria finished in 3:21.48, setting another school-record in the process.
Other school-records to fall included:
- Alex Kainer: 200 meters in 21.93. It was a school-record and personal best. It is currently ranked No. 16 in NCAA DIII
- Nick Zickgraf: Mile in 4:12.65 It is a new school-record and personal best, and it is also currently ranked No. 16 in NCAA DIII
- Greg Arabagian: Set a school-record and personal best time in the 3000 meters at 8:36.48
Nine other Ducks improved their PR's on Saturday, namely
- PJ Gunther: 3000m, 8:44.10. Personal best
- Sean James: Mile, 4:28.75. Personal best
- Nicholas DiMaria: 400, 50.18. Personal best
- Brandon Truong: Weight Throw, 14.10m. Personal best
- Cody Yersin: Weight Throw, 14.88m. Personal best
- Parker Dimock: Weight Throw, 15.41. Personal best
- Daniel Kaba: 60hurdles, 9.68. Personal best
- Raouf Laadem: 800, 1:59.05. Personal best
- Andy Accardi – personal best in pole vault. 4.50 meters
