LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 21, 2018)  – No. 17 Stevens Institute of Technology Men's Lacrosse senior attackman Tommy Dawson was named to the Division III Team of the Week Tuesday evening by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). It's the first career Team of the Week honor for the Virginia Beach, Virginia native.

Dawson posted consecutive four-goal outings for No. 17 Stevens as the Ducks topped both Skidmore College and Haverford College during the review period. In a homecoming game for the senior, Dawson recorded four goals and three assists, while causing one turnover and picking up one groundball as the Ducks topped the Thoroughbreds 16-9 in a game played at Cape Henry High School, where Dawson starred from 2011-14. Against the Fords, Dawson again displayed his offensive firepower, scoring four times and adding an assist as the Ducks scored 13 unanswered goals en route to an 18-5 victory.

"Tommy had an excellent week and led our offense," head coach Gene Peluso said. "His performance in the homecoming game was very impressive, but to have four goals and an assist against a very stingy Haverford defense that hadn't been scored on more than 10 times in a game is also impressive."

Dawson's accolade is the second USILA Team of the Week honor for men's lacrosse this season, after junior Max Bailey was previously recognized on February 20 after a two-goal, seven-assist performance in Stevens' season-opening victory over Arcadia University.
