Thompson Takes 15th In 5,000 At NCAAs

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Nazareth graduate student Emily Thompson placed 15
th in the 5,000-meter run Friday night at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Birmingham Crossplex.
Thompson, who came into the race seeded 14
th, clocked a 17:34.25 to finish 15
th out of 17 competitors. Brittany Bowman of Tufts University was the national champion in a time of 16:31.32, followed by Taryn Cordani of Ithaca College (16:36.83).
Thompson's time was a bit slower than her qualifying time of 17:07.61, which she churned out at the Boston Invitational back in February to break the school record.
Nazareth's Alycia Eaton will compete on Saturday in the triple jump, beginning at 2 p.m.
