INDIANAPOLIS -- Swimming in his second of three events Friday, Nazareth's Seth Farrand finished 30th in the 100-yard backstroke at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium.
The freshman from Franklinville, N.Y., delivered a time of :51.27, a bit slower than his seed time of :51.10. Emory's Sage Ono posted the top preliminary time of :47.93 to rank as the favorite heading into Friday evening's finals.
Earlier in the week, Farrand finished 22nd in the 50-yard freestyle (:20.64). He will return to the pool Saturday to compete in the 100-yard freestyle.
