INDIANAPOLIS -- Freshman Seth Farrand completed his odyssey at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday by finishing in 22nd in place in the 100-yard freestyle.  Farrand was the first-ever male swimmer at Nazareth to qualify for the national meet.

Farrand broke his own school record with a time of :45.28 to complete his meet, which included a 22nd place finish in the 50 freestyle and a 30th place finish in the 100 backstroke earlier in the week.

"Overall it was a good week for Seth," said Nazareth Coach Scott Whitbeck. "It was a great opportunity to swim against the best competition in the country and to see what that's all about."

Emory's Oliver Smith, who also won the 50 freestyle, finished first in the 100 free prelims with a time of :42.98 and will return to swim in Saturday's evening's finals.
