ITHACA, NY – Junior diver of the Alfred University men's swimming & diving team, Christopher Deaver (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) punched his ticket to the NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday at Ithaca College.

"Chris [Deaver] qualifying for the NCAA Championship today is a great accomplishment," Head Coach Brian Striker said. "Two years ago, we left this meet with some disappointment and an ambition to successfully get to the next step. He has worked hard to improve, and it showed this weekend!"

Deaver finished the 11-dive meet with a score of 437.45 and ranked seventh in the event but was good enough to send him to the NCAA Division III National Championship in Indianapolis, IN from March 21 until March 24.

"Chris [Deaver] has put a lot of hard work in this season," Diving Coach Cassie Tyler said. "We have worked on getting his DD (degree of difficulty) on his dives higher. He put all the little things into action to make it happen. As a coach, I couldn't be more proud of him."
