Diehl Breaks 800-Meter School Record

BLOOMSBURG, PA– The Alfred University men's track & field team went to Division II Bloomsburg University's Maroon and Gold Invitational on Saturday, April 28.
The Saxons' were led by
Erik Diehl (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) as he broke an Alfred University school record in the 800-meter run, winning the event at Bloomsburg. He ran a 1:53.75, topping the previous record held by Russell Young '87 set in his senior year of 1:53.90.
"It was great to finally see Erik [Diehl] run such an incredible race," Head Coach
Dr. Angie Taylor said. "It was so exciting! Everyone on the coaching staff knows what he is capable of running and for him to put it all together at the time let's me know more great running is yet to come!"
Diehl teamed with
Rashid Abuelmaali (Latham, NY/Shaker),
Jordan Schools (Wyalusing, PA/Wyalusing) and
Seth Spicer (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) in the 4x400-meter relay for a second place finish of 3:34.72.
