How It Happened
  • Meeting for the second time this season, it was RPI that jumped out to the early lead with three close victories in the doubles flights.
  • Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez and Andre Imrie opened the match with an 8-5 win over the pairing of senior Danny Polk and freshman Bryan Szayna in the first doubles position. 
  • The senior tandem of William Persson and Kyle Henry fell to the team of McKinley Grimes and Zack Ebenfield 8-6 at No. 2 doubles and the freshman duo of Mark Kanevsky and Keegan Morris fell in the third doubles slot by the same margin.
  • RPI earned straight-set victories at third and fourth singles to clinch. Kanevsky was leading at No. 6 singles when the match concluded. 
  • The four-person senior class of Persson, Polk, Henry and David Schulz combined to lead the Stevens Men's Tennis program to four NCAA appearances, four Empire 8 Conference titles and 66 victories over their four seasons on Castle Point. The quartet did drop a single match in Empire 8 Conference play.
