Hyde Breaks Hammer Throw School Record at Geneseo Open Invite

GENESEO, NY – The Alfred University women's and men's track & field teams sent a handful of Saxons to the SUNY Geneseo Beautiful Valley Open on Thursday evening.
The 'Last Chance Meet' featured several Alfred athletes who were attempting to hit All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference Championships (AARTFCC) on May 16 and May 17 at The College at Brockport.
Hyde stood out with a new Alfred University school record in the hammer throw. She hit a mark of 43.64m, topping Emily Moorhead '10 and her 43.33m. Jeffery Nunez was the only Saxon to hit the regional mark as he, as well, competed in the hammer and threw a 48.31m mark. Nunez is just off of the school record of 49.92m
