Ithaca Named Six Seed in Adrian, Mich. Regional, Set to Play No. 3 La Roche on Thursday

ITHACA, N.Y. – In the early morning on Monday, the NCAA released its field of 58 schools who were selected to play in the 2018 Division III Baseball Championship, and the committee selected Ithaca College as the No. 6 seed in the Adrian, Michigan Regional. The Bombers will take on No. 16 and third-seeded La Roche (34-8-1) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday in the eight-team regional. Adrian College, the seven seed, will serve as the host institution at Nicolay Field.

Ithaca (28-15), the Empire 8 Conference champions for the seventh straight season, will be making its 47th all-time trip to the NCAA Division III Championship. The Bombers took down St. John Fisher, 7-5, in the winner-take-all matchup on Saturday in Hoboken, N.J.

The top seed in the regional is No. 2 Wooster (36-8) and will play Wabash (28-15) at 1:15 p.m. Second-seeded Otterbein (30-14) battles No. 7 Adrian (33-10) at 7:45 p.m. and the No. 4-5 matchup between Marietta (27-16) and Shenandoah (34-10) gets the regional underway at 10 a.m.

No. 1 Wooster –
The Fighting Scots earned a Pool C at-large bid out of the North Coast Athletic Conference
No. 2 Otterbein – The Cardinals were a Pool C selection from the Ohio Athletic Conference
No. 3 La Roche – The Redhawks won their fifth straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate College title
No. 4 Marietta – The Pioneers were a Pool C selection from the Ohio Athletic Conference
No. 5 Shenandoah – The Hornets won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference
No. 6 Ithaca – The Bombers prevailed in the Empire 8 Conference
No. 7 Adrian – The Bulldogs won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association
No. 8 Wabash – The Little Giants defeated Wooster in the North Coast Athletic Conference
