The Empire 8 Conference is full of talented student-athletes and the E8 Spotlight is one way for fans to get to know them. 
 
Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) recently graduated from Utica College with a degree in Psychology-Child Life.  Miller was a four-year member on the women’s lacrosse team.
 
Why did you choose to attend Utica? I choose to attend Utica for the education program. And when I visited I really liked the coaches and the team.
 
What has been the greatest part of your experience as a college athlete?  The lifelong friends I have made with my teammates and definitely going to the Empire 8 Tournament this year.
 
Who has been the most influential person during your athletic career? Why? My parents. They have always pushed me to be the best I can.
 
Where do you see yourself in five years? I will hopefully be an elementary school teacher and possibly coaching on the side.
 
What do you like most about competing in the E8? The competitive atmosphere.
 
What do you do in your spare time? Hang out with my friends and watch Netflix.
 
Top things on your bucket list? Visit all 50 states and travel outside the country.
 
What is something most people don’t know about you? My lacrosse number has been No. 1 since sixth grade.
