Polk Named First-Team Academic All-District

HOBOKEN, N.J. (May 18, 2018) –
Danny Polk of the Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team was named First-Team 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced.
The 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America® teams announced in June.
Danny Polk of the men's tennis program will also graduate next week. He boasts a 3.91 GPA while majoring in finance. He was named the Empire 8 Men's Tennis Player of the Year after leading Stevens to its eighth-straight Empire 8 Championship in 2018. He was also a First-Team All-Empire 8 doubles and singles player.
He was perfect 4-0 at first singles in the Empire 8 this year, reached the semifinals of the ITA Regionals in the fall and ended his playing days among the Top-10 in both singles and doubles career wins at Stevens.

Stevens is located in District 2 and competes with institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Rhode Island, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
