Fisher Set to Host Empire 8 Track and Field Championship Meet

St. John Fisher College will serve as hosts for the 2018 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, April 4 - Saturday, April 5 at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex.

Field events will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday along with several track events beginning at 4 p.m. The championship meet will continue on Saturday from 11 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. The final awards presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Facility: The facility was opened in 2011 and is set to be the site for the 2020 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship. 

The facility features an eight-lane, 400-meter competition track with a grass infield. Components for shot put, pole vault, and long jump events have been installed in the infield. In addition, there are locker rooms for the student-athletes and public restrooms.

With seating capacity for roughly 2,000, the facility also features a scoreboard and can be used for various sports including football, soccer, field hockey and lacrosse.  The grass infield is often used by the Buffalo Bills during training camp.
