2018 Men's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team and MVP

The 2018 Empire 8 Men's Lacrosse All-Tournament Team has been announced. 

Stevens – John Boutureira (MVP), Dallas Creamer, Brendan Monteleone, Nicholas Carnovale
St. John Fisher – Andrew Rosso, Kyle O’Dea, Joe Post
Alfred – Shane Weber and Garrette Briggs
Hartwick: Eric Schweitzer and Brett Maguire

Boutureira was named the Most Valuable Player of the Empire 8 Tournament after he helped top-seeded Stevens win its first E8 title since 2012. Boutureira had three goals in Stevens semifinal win over Hartwick on Wednesday. He then led Stevens with five goals and one assist as the Ducks held off second-seeded St. John Fisher 13-9 in the title game to earn a bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
 
Carnovale won 67 percent of his face-offs in two games. He was 18-of-22 and scooped up 14 ground balls in the semifinal win against Hartwick. In the championship game, Carnovale won 12-of-23 face-offs and picked up four ground balls against St. John Fisher.
 
Creamer caused three turnovers in the tournament including three in the title game. He also scored his first goal of the season in the title game.
 
Monteleone finished with seven points in the tournament on five goals and two assists. He tallied a hat trick in the semifinal against Hartwick and scored two goals in the fourth quarter of the Championship game.
 
Rosso led the Fisher offense in the semifinal game of the tournament, netting five goals and adding two assists against Alfred. He finished with one assist against Stevens as he fired off five shots.
 
Post won 49 percent of his face-offs in two games. He was 13-of-26 and scooped up seven ground balls in the semifinal win against Alfred. In the championship game, Post won 12-of-25 face-offs and picked up seven ground balls against Stevens.
 
O’Dea played an excellent tournament defensively as he finished with a six caused turnovers and added five ground-balls. He caused five turnovers in the semifinal against Alfred and scooped up three ground balls against Stevens in the final.

Weber continued his dominance on defense as he scooped up nine ground balls.
 
Briggs recorded five ground balls for the Saxons in the semifinals against Fisher. He also won 12-of-21 face-offs.
 
Maguire scored one goal in the semifinal game but it was the first goal of the game to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Maguire bounced a shot past the Stevens' keeper for a 1-0 advantage 4:13 into the contest.
 
Schweitzer finished with game-high eight caused turnovers in the semifinal against Stevens and scooped up six ground balls.
