PITTSFORD, N.Y. (September 15, 2018)  – Freshman Adam Silva netted a pair of goals during a five-minute span late in the second half to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over St. John Fisher College Saturday in both teams' Empire 8 Conference opener.

Silva snapped a scoreless tie in the 73rd minute, burying a well-played ball from Daniel Aversano that snuck through the Fisher defense for his fourth of the season. The pair partnered up for Stevens' second goal of the game just five minutes later. A Fisher own goal rounded out the scoring. Silva leads the conference with five goals and 13 points, with Aversano right behind with four goals and a conference-leading four assists for 12 points.

The win was the fourth straight for the Ducks, who moved to 6-1 on the season. It was Stevens' second consecutive victory in the conference opener and the team's third straight win over the Cardinals.

Joe Catalfamo made six saves for St. John Fisher, who remains winless at 0-6.

Senior Aaron Henry made two saves for his third clean sheet. The Fayetteville, Arkansas moved into sixth place all-time with 13 career shutouts. Henry tops the conference in goals against average (0.653).
