ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior Jessica Livesey scored two goals and added two assists and junior Jennifer Hilts added two goals and one assist Wednesday as Nazareth dominated visiting Keuka in a non-conference field hockey match, 7-0.
Nazareth improved to 5-4 overall, while Keuka dropped to 2-6.
Senior Emily Prescott also scored twice for tghe Golden Flyers and freshman Mikaylee Whalen contributed the team's seventh goal in the closing seconds. Junior Madison Bianchi had an assist.
Although Nazareth controlled the action with a 29-2 advantage in shots, it took until midway through the first half before Nazareth scored. Sophomore Lydia Dewart had a chance 14 minutes in when she was awarded a penalty stroke, but her attempt sailed high to keep the game scoreless. Prescott finally scored at 17:37 following her own penalty corner. She was able to tip in a blast by Bianchi for her second goal of the season.
Jessica Livesey contributed an unassisted goal less than two minutes later and then assisted on Hilts' first goal about thee minutes after that.
The next four goals came in the second half. Prescott's second goal of the game came less than five minutes into the period, then the Hilts-Livesey combination surfaced again five minutes later with Hilts scoring her team-leading seventh goal of the season and 20th of her career.
Livesey scored again at 58:11, then Whalen closed the scoring by tipping in a shot by Hilts.
Keuka's only legitimate scoring chance of the game came with about eight minutes left when the Wolves were awarded their lone penalty corner of the game. Back to back shots by Nicole Wilson and Lexi Appleby were saved by Nazareth goalie Kimber Nourse, who played all 70 minutes to gain her second career shutout -- both coming this season.
Nazareth resumes its Empire 8 Conference schedule Saturday with a road game at Hartwick at 1 p.m.
