Hawks Explode Offensively for 8-1 Win Over Brockport

Recap: The Hawks scored three times in the opening 10 minutes and never looked back in an 8-1 rout of visiting Brockport on Saturday. Tegan Robinson (Mechanicville, NY/Shenendehowa) opened the scoring at the 3:25 mark with Allyson Quirk (Longmeadow, MA/Longmeadow) adding a goal 1:21 later for a 2-0 lead. Maria Stalder (New Woodstock, NY/Cazenovia) made it 3-0 and Val Palmeri (Endwell, NY/Maine Endwell) tacked on the Hawks' fourth for a 4-0 advantage. Brockport got on the scoreboard less than seven minutes from halftime. In the second half, Hartwick scored four more times in a 15-minute window. Perry Willett (Huntington, VT/Mount Mansfield Union) and Robinson scored and then Lavaisha Sparrow (Dover Plains, NY/Dover) netted a pair within three minutes of each other to close out the scoring. Stalder finished with a goal and three assists while Willett contributed a goal and two helpers. Quirk had a goal and an assist and Katie Meuse (Londonderry, NH/Londonderry) dished out an assist. The Hawks would hold a sizeable advantage in shots, 25-4. They also earned nine corners to the Golden Eagles' four. Allyson Osborne (Nottingham, PA/Solanco) was credited with three saves in the Hawks' goal.
 
Game Notes: Hartwick improved to 28-16-1 against Brockport in 45 meetings all-time. The eight goals by the Hawks is the most in a game since a 9-0 win over Elmira back in 2007.
