FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Freshman Brice Bogna scored for the third-straight game as Houghton men's soccer defeated host Fredonia, 2-1, in the first round of the Blue Devil Classic on Friday.

The Blue Devils didn't take long to grab an early lead, scoring at the 1:53 mark of the first half. But the Highlanders regained control offensively with Gabe VanWyk netting the tying goal just 12 minutes later off an assist from Bogna. Andrew Bussey caused a turnover at midfileld and sent a beautiful ball forward to Bogna, who dribbled toward the touch line before centering the ball to VanWyk who slotted it home.

Vanwyk would return the favor in the 56th minute, sending a corner kick to the near post. Bogna's first touch bounced off a defender, but the freshman quickly gathered in the loose ball, spun and deposited the ball into the back of the net.
