Slomba's First Goal of the Season Keys Field Hockey Win at St. Lawrence
CANTON, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College field hockey team got back to its winning ways on Saturday as the Cardinals blanked St. Lawrence, 1-0, in a non-conference pairing at Leet Stadium. With the win, Fisher improved to 2-1 overall while the Saints fell to 1-3 on the season.
After combining to take 22 shots in the opening half without a goal on the board, the Cardinals broke through in the 44th minute when Lindsay Scott fed Katelyn Slomba who beat the Saints' keeper for her first goal of the season.
Fisher nearly doubled its advantage in the 68th minute when Bre Socker fired a shot, but the attempt was batted aside by a St. Lawrence defender to keep the lead at 1-0.

Socker led all players with eight shots including three on goal while Lauren Fazio finished with six shots. Gianna Palma had four shots in the win while Lexi Foley, Alyssa Andres and Slomba were each credited with one shot apiece.
