Defending Commisioner's Cup Champions Earn Top Spot Following Fall Seasons
Stevens, which won last year's Empire 8 Conference Commissioner's Cup, is once again in the top spot following the fall sports season. The Ducks posted a 0.9139 composite score, and lead by almost two-tenths of a point following the first release of the standings. The E8 will post updated Commissioner's Cup standings following the winter sports season, and then the final standings will be released in May after the completion of the spring sports campaigns.

CLOSER LOOK
Stevens earned a total of 55.75 points by their fall sports teams, led by a trio of E8 Conference-title winning teams. The Ducks won conference championships in the sports of men's and women's soccer and women's tennis this past fall. The women's volleyball team earned 8.5 points towards the total after claiming the regular season title as well.
Nazareth is currently in second place, with a percentage total of 0.7422, narrowly ahead of nearby rival St. John Fisher (0.7169). The Golden Flyers earned 8.5 points a piece from their E8 title-winning women's volleyball team and their regular season title-winning women's tennis program. St. John Fisher scored well across the board as six of their fall sports programs posted at least five points to contribute to their third-place ranking. Rounding out the top five were Utica (0.6618) and Alfred (0.5219).
Commissioner Cup points are awarded based on each team's finish in the Empire 8 conference standings at the completion of the regular season and post-season. Points are awarded on a scale dependent upon the number of schools that sponsor the sport (affiliate members are not calculated into the point scale). A team's regular season finish will be added to their post-season finish and divided by two for the final total for that sport.
Teams tied for a position in the regular season standings are ranked based on tiebreaker scenarios. The actual amount of points earned is then divided by the amount of possible points for each school based on conference-sponsored sports to determine their overall percentage.
