UTICA, NY - Junior Sabrina Whitehouse had a hand in all four goals as the Utica College field hockey team downed visiting Sage 4-0 in Empire 8 Conference play Saturday evening.
After a scoreless first half, the Pioneers exploded for three goals in just under 10 minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Sydney Scaccia started the offensive onslaught at 35:12 when she put in a feed from Whitehouse for her team-leading fifth goal of the year.
Sophomore Madeline Krecidlo padded the lead at 40:28 with her fourth of the year, assisted by Whitehouse. Just 4:09 later, Krecidlo repaid the favor as she fed Whitehouse for Utica's third tally.
Senior Amanda Fitzgerald capped off the scoring at 54:39 with her first goal as a Pioneer. The Pioneers did not allow a shot on goal over 60 minutes of play. Abigayle Greier finished with 14 saves in net for Sage.
