Seven Empire 8 performers were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 12 for their tremendous performances last weekend. Morrisville State’s Offensive Line, junior defensive back Raeqwon Greer of Alfred University and junior linebacker Dylan Dubuque of Cortland State earned the prestigious weekly honor.

Morrisville's line, consisting of sophomore Brian Mapp, senior Zach Hutchinson, junior Tyler Elmore, junior Rudy Pablo and freshman Darrius Burton allowed for 498 yards of total offense in a decisive 49-13 win over St. John Fisher College on Saturday. The line provided the blocking needed for the Mustangs to gain a season high 275 yards rushing against a Fisher squad that on average allows a mere 110.4 yards per game. The Mustangs averaged 6.3 yards per carry, and 13.9 per pass completion in the dominating win.

Morrisville's offensive unit currently ranks second overall in the Empire 8 in total offense, averaging 428.3 yards per game, and leads the league in both passing offense and offensive efficiency, averaging 290.4 yards per game passing and 154.6 in efficiency. They also lead the Empire 8 in touchdowns scored with 48.

Greer patrolled the back end of the Alfred defense, tallying a career-high 15 tackles (12 solo), adding a sack in a 16-7 loss at No. 25 Brockport. Greer is tied for the Empire 8 lead with 52 solo tackles and is fourth overall with 82 total tackles in 2019. He was also named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Oct. 8.

Dubuque earned Special Team Player of the Week honors. He blocked a 21-yard field goal with 5:45 remaining and Cortland clinging to a 22-21 lead in the Red Dragons' 32-21 win at Hartwick. The blocked kick was Cortland's second of the game and team school-record 10th of the season. Dubuque, who is also a linebacker, is eighth in the Empire 8 with 68 total tackles and tied for fourth with four sacks this season.

The Empire 8 has been well represented on the D3football.com Team of the Week this season, with 14 different student-athlete or groups garnering 16 weekly honors. Greer, along with Alex West of The College at Brockport are the lone two-time recipients this season.

Brockport clinched its third straight Empire 8 Championship last Saturday. The Golden Eagles are ranked No. 22 in the D3football national poll and No. 25 in the American Football Coaches Association national poll. The Golden Eagles wrap up the regular season this weekend at Morrisville, who has won three straight games. Hartwick travels to Utica, while St. John Fisher hosts Alfred in the final weekend of regular season league play. SUNY Cortland heads to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ to face Ithaca in the annual Cortaca Jug game. More than 42,000 tickets have been sold, as the Division III football attendance record is expected to be broken.
