Senior Lindsay Scott and junior Bre Socker of St. John Fisher College were named 2019 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III All-Americans on Wednesday, December 11. Scott was named to the second team, while Socker was a third team selection.
The 2019 Longstreth/NFHCA All-Americans are made up of 37 first-time honorees, eight second-time honorees, and three third-time honorees. Scott and Socker both earned their first All-American honors. It is the first time in St. John Fisher program history that two players have been selected as All-Americans in the same year.
Scott was named the 2019 Empire 8 Player of the Year last month. A native of Webster, N.Y., Scott enjoyed an incredible season for the Cardinals in 2019, setting an E8 single-season record with 19 assists to go along with nine goals for 37 points. On Oct. 18, Scott set the Empire 8 single-game record with seven assists. Scott’s 19 assists were second in all of Division III.
A two-time NFHCA All-Region selection (2017 and 2019), Scott finished her four-year career with 69 career points on 18 goals and 33 assists in 77 games. The 33 career assists are a St. John Fisher program record.
Socker enjoyed an incredible season for the Cardinals in 2019, setting new program records with 28 goals and 62 points, while also leading the league in both categories. The junior had eight multi-goal games this season, including four tallies in wins over Houghton on Oct. 14 and four days later at Sage. Socker finished second in Division III, averaging 1.40 goals per game and fourth with 3.10 points per game.
Socker is a three-time All-Region selection, having earned second team honors in 2017 and first team accolades in both 2018 and 2019 She is second all-time at Fisher with 61 career goals, 149 points and 421 shots and is third with 27 assists. Socker will enter her final season within striking distance of the all-time Empire 8 career records in both goals and points.
