Reigning Empire 8 Rookie of the Year Named to National Watch List

Sammie Torlish was named to the National Player of the Year Watch List by Schutt Sports / NFCA it was announced recently. The sophomore was one of 50 student-athletes to garner the national acclaim.
CLOSER LOOK
Torlish was named the Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Year following a freshman season in which she hit .364 and led the Cardinals with 51 hits. She helped lead Fisher to their second-consecutive E8 title last spring as the Cardinals advanced to the Super Regionals for the third consecutive season in 2018. The sophomore, who was also recognized as a First Team All-Conference selection, finished second last spring with 15 doubles and also drove in 30 runs while scoring 32.
St. John Fisher opens up their 2019 campaign March 3 in Florida against Ohio Northern as part of the Sunkissed Classic.
